Manish Pandey became the latest to enter club of married Indian cricketers after tying the knot with Indian film actor Ashrita Shetty in Mumbai on Monday.

Manish and Ashrita got married in a glittering ceremony in Mumbai, just hours after the cricketer led from the front to help Karnataka retain the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy in Surat on Sunday.

Ashrita Shetty hails from Mumbai and has predominantly featured in Tamil films. She rose to fame after working in Udhayam NH4 alongside Siddharth and also featured in Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavanigalum and Indrajith among other films.

“Looking forward to the India series, but before that there is another important series for me, I am getting married tomorrow,” Manish Pandey, who has been picked for India’s limited-overs series against West Indies, said after Karnataka’s win.

Wishes poured in for the cricketer and his actor wife from all quarters with fans even hailing Pandey’s dedication towards the game as he played the final against Tamil Nadu just a night before getting married and that too in another city.

Pandey led from the front with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 60 off 45 balls as Karnataka posted 180 for 5 on the board after being asked to bat first.

The defending champions then restricted Tamil Nadu to 179 for 6 in 20 overs to win the match by 1 run and become the first team in history to retain the Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Manish Pandey hit 2 sixes and 4 boundaries as he shared important stands with rising star Devdutt Padikkal and Rohan Kadam and dominated the Tamil Nadu bowling attack.

Karnataka had also won the Vijay Hazare Trophy this year and with this title, became the first team in history to win both the prestigious tournaments in the same season.
